A Tour of LBI Real Estate

Long Beach Island (LBI) is approximately 6 miles out from what we term the Mainland.  The only vehicle access to the island is one bridge which brings you onto the middle of the island.    We call the bridge the causeway.   When you come across the bridge you are in Ship Bottom.  If you turn right onto Long Beach Blvd. from the causeway entrance, you will first travel through Ship Bottom, then Long Beach Township (various towns in this section), then Beach Haven and then through another section of Long Beach Township known as Holgate, which is the Southern most end of the Island.   If you turn left on Long Beach Blvd. from the Causeway entrance you will travel through Ship Bottom, then Surf City, then North Beach (part of Long Beach Twp.), then Harvey Cedars, then Loveladies (part of Long Beach Twp.) and then Barnegat Light.   Barnegat Light is the Northern most end of the island and contains the lighthouse.   Long Beach Island is broken into 6 municipalities.  From North to South they are Barnegat Light, Harvey Cedars, Surf City, Ship Bottom and Beach Haven. Long Beach Township, the largest of the towns covers roughly 12 of the 18 miles of LBI, is in several locations (High Bar Harbor, Loveladies and North Beach on the North end and a number of sections on the south end).

Continue to check back as I will continue to write more about the different towns that make up LBI. Also check my website for homes available on LBI: lbideidre.com
