Heading towards the end of August, LBI inventory is creeping up. I expect the LBI inventory to continue to increase over the next month as the LBI rental season comes to an end. We have seen some price reductions, but the prices remain close to where they were at the start of summer. As more and more inventory enters the LBI market, I expect prices to fall a little. However, I expect the prices to more or less remain close to what we are experiencing today for awhile. If you are thinking of purchasing a home on LBI and want to be in for next summer, now is a good time to get familiar with the market and LBI (if you do not know it well). LBI is 18 miles long and consists of 6 different municipalities. Each “section” of the island has its own set of amazing offerings, but one section may interest you more than the other. Learning the market and island now will put you in a good position to get the home that best suits your needs before next summer.
