Harvey Cedars

Harvey Cedars is between North Beach and Loveladies and offers a mix of commercial and residential.   Harvey Cedars mainly offers single family homes, but does offer some multi-family options, condos and interval ownerships.  Almost every street in Harvey Cedars has public beach access which is not necessarily the case in neighboring towns.

Harvey Cedars has some restaurants and small markets which is nice as the North end of the island tends to be quieter with less commercial.   Harvey Cedars can save you a grocery trip to the South end’s Acme or the mainland’s grocery stores.   Harvey Cedars also has a bay beach on 75th Street which is great for watching sunsets and those who would like a change from the ocean beach.

Harvey Cedars is also its own municipality so if you are going to the beaches in Harvey Cedars you will need to purchase a Harvey Cedars beach pass.  The municipal building is located on the boulevard between 76th and 77th street.    Harvey Cedars is also home to Sunset Park, which is also a great spot to watch the sunsets.  Sunset Park is located between. Salem Ave. and W. Burlington Ave.  The Park offers a playground, ballfield, pickleball courts, walking path and picnic tables.

Back in the day, Harvey Cedars was known as High Point and home to the Harvey Cedars Hotel.  The hotel no longer exists, but one of the “old” Fishing Clubs does.  The fishing club is easy to spot in its unique looking building on a piece of land with a lot of open space – an unusual find on the island.

Harvey Cedars also offers some“cove” type locations.   The coves are located on the bayside of the boulevard and offer some quaint type living on the water options.  Some of the streets within the coves are very narrow and give you that “small town” feel.
